Carolyn's journey
Nature’s beauty—sunbeams sparkling on the water, illuminating the forest, or transforming animals and flowers with that elusive quality of light—this is what I am passionate about. Painting in oils allows me to express that passion, particularly through a focus on birds of every type.
My journey in oil painting began with renowned artist Elin Pendleton at a class in Maine more than a decade ago. I still use Elin’s painting system, and I’ve continued to develop as an artist through classes in Washington, DC, and most recently in Delaware with the very talented artist/instructor Joe Terrone.
While I draw my inspiration from the wilderness, I also want to pay tribute through my paintings—to feel nature and encourage all of us to slow down and cherish it.
